Our practice focuses on sleep as the basis of whole body health. We screen all patients for varying levels of Sleep Disorders and have the capability to obtain a state of the art CBCT scan of the airway. The highest quality of care is provided to individuals who are deemed good candidates that would benefit from the release of tethered oral tissues , Myofunctional Therapy and custom fabricated sleep devices to correct Sleep Disorders.
Whether you are struggling with an infant who is experiencing feeding issues, slow weight gain , reflux and/or colic symptoms or an older child with sleep concerns like snoring or grinding their teeth, speech impediments or a picky eater, having a Functional Assessment early in life to screen for tethered oral tissues (tongue tie) can be life changing and prevent many bad habits associated with oral restrictions from forming. As an IBCLC & Orofacial Myologist , Sherrie has the experience and expertise to develop an indivualized care plan specific to your child’s needs.
Dr. Schuh has performed laser frenectomy's on patient's as young as 3 days old , utilizing the LightScalpel CO2 laser.Although the procedure itself is quick, it may take a few weeks for all symptoms to resolve themselves , many families see positive results within a few hours to days following release.
Preparation is key, both mentally and physically and is just as important as the after care . This is never one size fits all, Sherrie ensures pre and post operative care is tailored to fit each child’s individual needs. For some, more extensive therapy is required, inquire with Sherrie for pricing and scheduling of these therapies.
